African Pride (Sundew)

African Pride was developed by ARC-Infruitec / Nietvoorbij and released in 1999. This popular plum is harvested in early January, has yellow skin and flesh and has a semi free stone

African Pride (Sunkiss)

African Pride was developed by ARC-Infruitec / Nietvoorbij and released in 1999. This popular plum is harvested in late December, has yellow skin and flesh and has a semi free stone.

Suplum 6 (Angeleno)

This striking plum was developed in the USA, and is harvested in early February. It has a black skin and yellow flesh, and a semi-free stone.

Flavor Fall

Flavor Fall is an exciting new plum released in 2008 and exclusive to Fruits. First commercial volumes will be available from 2011.  The plum ripens and is harvested in Week 12-15 with an excellent brix and high pressures.

Although late, the plum is juicy and sweet and is far superior in appearance and eating quality to any late plum available on the market. Flavor Fall promises to revolutionize the South African late plum market in that it will extend the season and allow the South African producer to service the market for up to 9 months of the year.

Flavor King

Developed in California, Flavor King is a plumcot similar to a plum with a very good and unique eating quality.

It is harvested in late January, and it has bright red skin with small white spots, red flesh and a cling stone.


Harry Pickstone

The plum is named after one of the pioneers of the fresh fruit industry in South Africa. It was bred by Infruitec in SA and released in 1973. Harry Pickstone is harvested in weeks early January and the skin colour is green with a touch of red when picked, but turns dark red after cold storage. The flesh is yellow and it has a cling stone.

Laetitia

Laetitia was bred by Infruitec in South Africa and released in 1985. This delicious plum has bright red with many small white spots, and it is harvested in late January.

The flesh is orange-yellow in colour and the stone is semi-free.

 

Pioneer

Pioneer is a popular, early ripening plum that is harvested in late November. Pioneer was bred by Infruitec in SA, and has a bright red skin and orange-yellow flesh and a cling stone

Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa originated in the USA, and is harvested in mid December. It has a red skin with an orange to red flesh, with a cling stone. This plum has a distinct flavour and is slightly acid around the stone.

Sapphire

The plum originated in South Africa and was bred by Infruitec. It was released in 1992, and is harvested in early December. The skin colour is purple on light green when picked, but turns dark purple in cold storage. It has a semi-free stone and a firm, sweet taste.

Songold

Songold was bred by Infruitec in South Africa and released in 1970. It is harvested in early February, and is yellow-green when picked but turns light red when ripe. This tasty plum has yellow flesh and a cling stone.br>

Flavor Fall

Stargrow and Fruits are releasing a new late red interspesific plum. Flavor Fall has a very late ripening and marketing possibility (wk 16-18). It has a high sugar (18-22 Brix) and has an excellent acid taste balance. It is a large variety (AA) and seems to be very popular. The trees are healthy and with a strong vigor and can be planted in the low to medium chilling unit areas.
