Victoria

This delicious seeded white grape has large, oval-shaped berries with a slight golden tint and compact bunches. It is a cross between Waltham Cross and Cardinal, and originates from Romania.

Victoria is relatively early and ripens in early January.

Majestic

This cultivar was developed locally at Nietvoorbij in South Africa, and originated from a cross between Bellevue and Waltham Cross. It was released to growers in 1985. Majestic is harvested in early February, and it has large, long elliptical berries, compact bunches.

Waltham Cross

The first reference to Waltham Cross was in 1871, when Mr. William Paul, of Waltham Cross, England, received a certificate from the Royal Horticultural Society for this cultivar.

It is similar to Razaki or Rosaki, which originated south of the Caspian Sea, and is also grown under the name Dattier de Beyrouth in Central Europe. Waltham Cross was first planted in the Cape at the end of the nineteenth century.

This seeded white variety has large oval-shaped berries with a golden tint and large, loose bunches. Sweet and juicy in taste, it ripens from February to March.

Dauphine

Dauphine was developed at Dien Donné in South Africa, and originated from open pollinated progeny of Almeria. It was released to growers in 1984. The name Dauphine is French for princess.

This white grape has large, oval berries, with compact bunches. It is a late variety, which ripens towards the end of March and is usually the last grape to be harvested in the Hex River Valley.
